What is a Catalina?

Catalina Marketing rewards purchases of promoted products with “Catalinas” or "Cats", also known as “check-out coupons” or "OYNOs". These coupons print at the register from the Catalina machine (see above pic) and are good toward your next shopping trip.  Always ensure the green light is on when doing a Catalina deal.  Also, you’ll need to watch the expiration dates of these coupons because they do expire.

Ways to Earn a Catalina Coupon:

1.  Purchase X Dollars of a product to receive a coupon for X dollars off your next order (OYNO)

This ConAgra promotion requires you to spend $20+ to earn $5 (OYNO).  This $5 Catalina coupon can be used on your next order as long as it is at least $5 but usually excludes gift cards, alcohol, cigarettes, etc.

2.  Purchase X amount of product to receive a coupon for X dollars off your next order

Price Chopper lists their monthly Catalina promotions in this Checkout Rewards pamphlet found at the front of the stores next to the ads (flyers).

Coupon Network also posts Price Chopper Catalina promotions.  These Catalina coupons are like the ones above (#2)

3.   Purchase X items to receive a free item or dollars off a specific item on your next order.
In this promotion, you earned a (1) Free Bagel Bites Catalina coupon when you purchased (2) Bagel Bites.  The Catalina coupon is applied to the Bagel Bites only.

4.  Targeted Marketing Manufacturer Catalinas
If you purchase a certain brand, you may earn a Catalina coupon for a competing brand (i.e., buy Eggland's Best eggs you may get a coupon 50 cents OYNO for Land O' Lakes eggs).   The Catalina coupon is applied to the Land O' Lakes eggs only.

Catalina manufacturer's promotions are typically based on shelf (regular) prices.  Price Chopper Gas Catalina promotions are always based on sale price however.  Usually if a Cat doesn't work either the product was not programmed in, the Catalina machine is not working or a customer made a mathematical error.  Errors can occur if the customer purchases the wrong size/product or computes the final total incorrectly.  You must always ensure the amount is at or above the required total needed to earn the Cat and that the Catalina machine is working (always check for the green light).

Can I Roll Cats?

YES!  If you get an OYNO coupon, you can repeat the promotion again on your next trip, use the previous OYNO and earn another OYNO.  This is called rolling Cats.  Walgreens does not allow rolling however.

Can I Use Coupons with a Catalina Promotion?

YES!

What if Catalina Doesn't Print?

Go to Customer Service and explain the situation.  Most of the time they will print the Catalina coupon for you.  If you are unsuccessful with Customer Service, contact Catalina Marketing directly at # (877) 210-1917, option 1 or 1-888-322-3814 or contact the Catalina Category Marketing Company via email.
