Price Chopper Supermarkets has now posted the revised coupon policy. Thoughts?
Here are a few facebook questions & answers:
Tracy Donofrio I
am also a little confused with digital coupons. Are all digital
coupons manufacturers coupons or are some store coupons? When you click
on the store coupon tab a whole bunch of coupons come up. To me, when I
read the info on the Breyers coupon this week it seems to be a store
coupon because of "cannot be combined with a paper Store Coupon"
meaning that I could use a manufacturers coupon with that particular
ecoupon, other coupons don't say that. Are all the coupons under the
"store coupons" tab store coupons that can be combined with a
manufacturers coupon?
Lisa Price Chopper Tracy,
All eCoupons are manufacturer coupons. The manufacturer coupons listed under the store coupons tab are just specific to your Price Chopper store.

Lisa Price Chopper Heidi,
We only cannot double (or triple) milk coupons if the state the store is located in doesn't permit it.

Heidi Telephone Thanks
Lisa. It sounds like it hasn't changed then. That sentence is just not
written clearly. The way I read it is if your state accepts milk
coupons ( I know some don't) they won't be doubled. I'm in NY and PC
has always doubled them, under $.99 of course. I often use milk coupons
so this is important to me.
Lisa Price Chopper Your AdvantEdge card will be scanned and all sales deducted before any coupons are applied.
- Lisa Price Chopper Erica,
A coupon can say any size or any flavor and still be acceptable as long as the other requirements listed are met like brand, size, etc... For example: a coupon for Stop&Shop eggs would be honored on Price Chopper eggs. We can match other store brands as long as we have the comparable item in our store. - Lisa Price Chopper Mindy,
Aldi's and Maine's are both limited assortment stores and they are excluded from our competitor coupon policy.

I didnt see anything about the 50% rule. I can certainly live without competitior coupons if I dont have to worry about that!
ReplyDeleteI am excited that they eliminated the 50% rule for double coupons but the new policy is a lot stricter than the past and there are far more changes:
ReplyDeleteHas the rule always been a limit of 4 like items or just like coupons I know we've used 4 .50 and 4 .75 coupons for the same items previously so I think this is new? And now it's per day not per order.
Now the $/$$ is after all coupons! honestly this will definitely impact how much I purchase at Price chopper because this is a huge change for me. I understand them only accepting other grocery store coupons but some of these other changes I am really disappointed in.
Not terrible. No major surprises.
ReplyDeleteLove that the 50% rule is gone.
We knew the drugstore change was coming...not great, obviously.
I'm glad that they finally clarified about the $/$$ purchase being after coupons, while not ideal I'm glad they decided one way or the other.
Only thing missing in my opinion is that they didn't do anything to address the confusion of their digital coupons and how they are actually all MFQs.
Kate, I will be calling Corporate on Monday as they really need to address that the MFCs under the store coupon tab are indeed MFCs and not store coupons. It is confusing!

ReplyDelete"Has the rule always been a limit of 4 like items or just like coupons I know we've used 4 .50 and 4 .75 coupons for the same items previously so I think this is new? And now it's per day not per order."
It has been a limit of 4 like items per day since the last coupon policy updated about a year ago. This isn't a change. I suspect everyone will still continue to ignore/misinterpret this part and continue to use 4 different coupons on the same item.
Really glad to see the 50% rule is gone, sad to see some of the other changes. Seriously, are they going to limit me to 4 doodads when I have a coupon that requires 2 for purchase? Like with the wet cat food coupons those are usually off 6 or more!
ReplyDeleteIt has been "4" like coupons for a long time. Policy states 4 like coupons or items. I believe you can use 4 50c and 4 75c coupons and purchase 8 items of different varieties. Of course, like most deals YMMV.
ReplyDeleteI agree with MS518's statement about $/$$ after all coupons as it will impact my shopping habits as well. If the $/$$ coupon states after all coupons then I have no problem, but if it doesn't and this is how PC is going to treat all $/$$ coupons then this impacts my shopping. Also have the same thoughts on the "like" coupons per day as MC518 stated if the interpretation is correct that you could not use (4) .50 and (4) .75 coupons on 8 of same item.
ReplyDeleteSo based on the above 2 changes alone, in my area it puts them on an even playing field with all the other stores - they have lost the advantage. I was always able to work around the 50% rule so that change is no big deal and the store I shop in never took Dollar General or Family Dollar so again no big change for me there either. But the other 2 changes will likely be a deal breaker for me.
The MF ecoupons issue - I do not think it is possible at this time to have 3 people call and all get the same response - I have tested this and 2 said the ones under "store" tab is just that, a store coupon and 1 said she wasnt sure and would get back to me - that was 2 - 3 weeks ago. Still no response.
Hopefully their revised policy will be revised yet again for further clarification.
Amy, Lisa clarified that the coupons under the store tab are MFCs designated for PC and cannot be used with a paper MFC on the FB page.
ReplyDeleteI read the policy last night and was VERY ubhappy --- especially about the $/$$ coupon. But, I thought the $/$$ acceptance after all other coupons only applied to those coupons that actually had that restriction. For example, the Wegman's coupons I use don't allow general Health and Beauty or meat - so, if I include those items, I make sure the total for all other items meets the $/$$ limit first. But, there is no restriction on the coupon that says the $/$$ is after all other coupons. So, I did not interpret the policy to say they would add that restriction.
ReplyDeletePlease don't tell me I have to run to PC today to do more orders with the last of my Wegman's coupons before they implement this stupid policy :( I spent about three house there yesterday.

One other point that I forgot to make in my last comment...
ReplyDeleteif there are electronic coupons on my card and they will bring me under the the limit for the $/$$ coupon, I always explain that up front and show the cashier my spreadsheet with the details. That way, if the total is $8 after the electronic coupons and my coupon is $/$$, they still take it...which is perfectly appropriate since the coupon does not have any "after all other coupon" restriction.
Anything that prevents this from continuing will be a deal breaker for me. Especially since PC is SOOOOO much more expensive than other stores on many items, and they RAISE their prices on some items based on their FB coupon or other deals (seriously, asparagus was $4.99 lb the week they had the $1 off FB coupon, like $2.99 lb the next week, and so on...like a yo-yo).

oops...in my earlier post I meant to say that I spent about 3 "hours" at PC yesterday. Boy, I must be tired from shopping until 11PM :)
ReplyDeleteGot some great deals in what looks to be my final trip to PC, but it was then too late to get them posted here.
-Trish
The $/$$$ has always been after all coupons and Advantage coupons. It has said this on PC and Tops coupons for several years.
ReplyDeleteAnd the girl on FB who wrote that her milk coupons double in NY state is wrong. Milk coupons are not supposed to double in NY state but sometimes cashiers doubled them anyway.
I understood the $/$$ coupon restriction to be "as applicable" .....so to say only if that particular coupon states there is a restriction of having to meet the minimum after all coupons have been applied. I know the stop and shop coupons always state this restriction, but the waldbaums ones I have from the entertainment book do not.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Thanks Alicia. That is what I hoped, since the $/$$ that I use does not (currently) include the "after all other coupons" restriction. I guess I'll only find out for sure during the next PC visit.
ReplyDelete-Trish
Alicia- I really think its for all $/$$ if you read the policy:
ReplyDeleteAn example of this type of coupon is a $5 off a $50 purchase coupon. The dollar amount of the purchase requirement, if any, will be determined after AdvantEdge savings and all other coupons have been deducted.
Any one notice that PC is trying to add more Cataline Deals like Shop Rite but increasing their rices on those products. Sorrento stringsters often go on sale at price chopper for $3.50. last week they were on sale for $3.99 each with a buy 2 get $1OYNO order catalina. I prefer to just pay less and not worry about losing the catalinas. I think its time to stop with the gimicks and just provide better prices.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what MS518 said about the pricing. How many times do they change the pricing on something for B1G1 or B1G2 free items, seems every week they are doing that. Now that they are not taking competitors for most of the stores that are within range here, I will be going to hannafords a lot more. Not having to wonder what the price of something is this week will be nice.
